“Azerbaijan has been playing the role of a center where global events on political, economic and other topics are held in the world for a long time. Our country has managed to host dozens of international summits, meetings where global projects are discussed, and major sports competitions at a high level. Having gained extensive experience in this field, Azerbaijan is set as an example by international organizations and leading countries, and its organization is highly appreciated. Of course, where such events will be held is not based on random selection. Organizers discuss and analyze the location of the event, evaluate the country’s potential and experience, and make a final decision. This shows that the political stability in Azerbaijan, sustainable development covering all areas, as well as the reputation gained on the international scale allow such prestigious events to be held in our country.”

Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.

“Azerbaijan is currently in the center of the world’s attention by hosting another global event – the 74th International Astronautical Congress. More than 5000 representatives from more than 100 countries came to the event. This shows the importance of the Congress and the extent of interest in this field in the world. Of course, the arrival of so many guests from different countries to Azerbaijan will create conditions for our country’s better recognition, promotion and development of tourism in the world. Also, it has a great role for our country in achieving new achievements in the space field, in the application and development of modern technologies. I believe that the organization of the event in Baku will also help to increase the interest of our young people in the space field and to educate them in this direction. It is known that Azerbaijan became a member of the world space family by launching the “Azerspace-1” telecommunication satellite in 2013, the “Azersky” Earth remote observation satellite in 2014, and the “Azerspace-2″ telecommunication satellite in 2018. This, as a continuation of our country’s economic power and successes in the field of new technologies, makes great contributions to our national security, socio-economic development, and creates conditions for conducting scientific research in this field,” said the chairman of the ATUC.
