“The path set by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, who saved Azerbaijan from the difficult situation in the early 90s of the last century, which was experiencing a severe political and socio-economic crisis, brought our country to the level of today’s development. It is the result of the successful continuation of the development strategy of Azerbaijan developed by him by Mr. Ilham Aliyev that all the intended goals have been achieved. Of course, the power of each state also comes from its economic potential. The economic power of our country is obvious, it is constantly developing, it is ineffective because it is resistant to crises in this area in the world. Also, the establishment of strong stability and peace in Azerbaijan, the growth of its military-political power day by day, the liberation of its lands from occupation, the creation of new realities, the significant contribution to the development of the region significantly increased the prestige of our country in the global world, raised its positions and made it the leader of the region And the huge projects created under the direct initiative and leadership of the head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, challenge the world and lead to the economic development of the participating states. Another point that makes our country important for the world is its gaining the status of a reliable partner. For this reason, all the states with which we cooperate highly appreciate the relations with Azerbaijan.”

Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, deputy of the Milli Majlis, said these thoughts to mass media.

According to him, Azerbaijan, which currently plays an important role in saving Europe from the difficult energy crisis, is also considered an important country in the economic development of Central Asian countries and the expansion of trade relations: “Therefore, it is precisely on this basis that our relations with these countries are constantly expanding in recent years. Mutual visits organized at the level of heads of state, meetings held, documents signed add a strategic character to our cooperation due to their importance. The invitation of President Ilham Aliyev as the guest of honor to the 5th Consultative meeting of the Central Asian Heads of State held in Tajikistan is of great importance in terms of the development of our relations with the countries represented there in many fields in the coming years. The noteworthy point here was that Azerbaijan was invited to the Consultative meeting for the first time as a country located outside the region. Of course, on the one hand, this is related to the expanding opportunities of our country both in the region and in the international world, and its important contributions to the provision of peace and security, on the other hand, it directly stems from the personal reputation of our head of state Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the effectiveness of his global initiatives and the importance of his ideas.

“President Ilham Aliyev mentioned a number of points during his speech at the event. We see that there is a significant increase in trade relations with Central Asian countries. The more than 3-fold increase observed in the trade turnover last year is quite a high indicator. As we know, Azerbaijan has a favorable geographical position, is located on international and regional transport corridors, has wide logistics capabilities, and also fully guarantees efficient organization and reliable provision of transit cargo transportation. The President declared that the entire transport and logistics infrastructure of Azerbaijan is open for them. It is also aimed to increase the volume of cargo transported by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway from 1 million tons to 5 million tons, and the capacity of the Baku Commercial Port to 25 million tons. All this, without a doubt, means great opportunities for our Central Asian brothers”, said the MP of the Milli Majlis.

The chairman of ATUC added that in general, President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Tajikistan and his participation in the Consultative meeting will open new pages in our existing mutually beneficial cooperation with brotherly countries, expand our relations, as well as raise the international reputation of our state.
