ATUC sends holiday gifts to 5,350 more families

On June 25, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) sent food for 4,100 low-income families living in the regions of the Republic, including families of martyrs and veterans, on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid al-Adha.

In addition, 1,250 families of the same category living in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were given holiday gifts.

In addition to ATUC, trade unions also provide food assistance to families of the category we mentioned in all regions.

For information, on the basis of the relevant decisions of the ATUC Executive Committee, food was sent in April 2020 for 3,900, in March 2021 for 3,900, in May for 4,000, in March 2022 for 4,065, in November for 4,500, in December for 4,650 families of martyrs and veterans, as well as for low-income families.

In addition, the Council of Trade Unions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been allocated funds each time to send gifts to families of the same category living there.

In an interview with journalists, ATUC chairman, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev said that various social projects are being implemented in our country, significant work is being done to ensure the welfare of citizens and strengthen the social protection of vulnerable population groups. Along with our state, leading public organizations of our country support such humanistic projects and take care of our citizens. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is distinguished by exemplary activity in this direction. Thus, on the initiative of the foundation’s president Mehriban Aliyeva, gifts and gifts are sent to families of martyrs, veterans, low-income families on holidays and significant days for our state, and festive tables are organized for them. Azerbaijani trade unions are also one of the main participants in the mentioned social projects.”

It should be noted that ATUC chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev met with a group of participants and veterans of the first Karabakh War, members of the families of martyrs, as well as people from low-income families after the departure ceremony.

Congratulating the participants on the upcoming Eid al-Adha, ATUC chairman inquired about their concerns and problems and listened to their appeals. At the end, the participants of the meeting were provided with material and moral support.
