In connection with the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the “Entrepreneurs’ Day” on April 25 in the “Gulustan” Palace, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, “Heydar Aliyev and A conference was held on the topic “Development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan”.
First, the participants of the event visited the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Honor Avenue and placed a wreath in front of the monument, commemorating his memory with respect. The participants of the conference also honored the memory of our heroes who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Martyrs’ Alley and laid a wreath at the “Eternal Flame” complex.
The conference began with the singing of the national anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute’s silence in memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by heads of relevant state institutions, representatives of public associations of entrepreneurs, as well as businessmen operating in various fields.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK), MP of Milli Mejlis Sattar Mohbaliyev spoke at the event. On the occasion of Entrepreneurship Day, he congratulated the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the entrepreneurs of our country and highly appreciated their services in the development of the country’s economy. He said that the development and establishment of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan is directly connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev: “The State Program for the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan” approved by him in 1993 gave a great impetus to the development of this field. Adopted state programs played a special role in the development of this field, making the development of small and medium enterprises a priority of economic policy. Under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, the legislative base and necessary infrastructure of entrepreneurial activity were created, financial support and necessary technical assistance were provided to entrepreneurs by the state.
According to him, the measures taken in the direction of reducing the tax burden of entrepreneurs, including lowering the rates of profit and value added tax, and increasing the transparency of their activities, played a unique role in increasing the special weight of the private sector in the economy.
He specially emphasized the “State Assistance Program for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Republic of Azerbaijan” covering the years 1997-2000. This program created favorable conditions for the sustainable development of entrepreneurship, the strengthening of its role in the country’s economy, and its integration into the world economy.”
Sattar Mohbaliyev also noted that all the goals set and directed by the Great Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev were successfully achieved as a result of the large-scale works and deep reforms carried out by his successful successor, President Ilham Aliyev, and today our country is experiencing a high stage of development, which makes every citizen proud: “Currently, Azerbaijan is a fertile country for investments, stable in terms of political, economic and social security. The increasing role of Azerbaijan in ensuring energy security in the world has established the status of an independent actor in the system of international relations of our country. The services of entrepreneurs in achieving all these successes and in the rapid development of the country’s economy are undeniable.”
Other speeches were also heard at the event.
At the end of the conference, an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev was accepted on behalf of the conference participants.
The event ended with the artistic part.
Within the framework of the conference, a photo exhibition reflecting different periods of the life and activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was organized in the foyer of the “Gulüstan” palace.
