Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, MP of the Milli Majlis, Sattar Mohbaliyev, congratulated the ladies of Azerbaijan on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day.

As the main driving force of our society, Azerbaijani women have always played an exceptional role in our formation as a nation, in the enrichment of our history, in the creation and development of our literature and culture. In addition to being a holy mother, a faithful wife, she also left a deep mark in history as an outstanding diplomat, ruler, general, and heroic warrior. Tomris, Nushaba, Burla Khatun, Sara Khatun, Hajar, Nigar and other heroic mothers became the eyes of the enemy. They created our glorious history with their bravery and sacrifice. Even though centuries have passed, our people never forget them and pass their names on from generation to generation. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic republic of the East, by giving women the right to be elected, further increased their status in our society and created conditions for their close participation in the social and political life of our country. Azerbaijani women also closely participated in the protection of our national identity, the expansion of the freedom struggle, and were the most reliable support of our mother tongue and our spirituality. The foundation of women’s policy at the state level in our country was laid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The founder of our state always treated the personality of women with great respect and took important steps in the direction of increasing their role in the social and political sphere. The Great Leader has always kept in mind the advancement of women in the management system and the high level of evaluation of their activities.
The head of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, congratulates the women of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the International Women’s Day every year, specially notes their services in the development of our country, and awards them with orders and medals. Of course, this is also a manifestation of attention and care for women at the state level.
Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, formed a positive image of the Azerbaijani woman with her rich activities. She represents Azerbaijan in the whole world with her noble and humane actions, not only in our country, but also at the world level, and she raises the name of Azerbaijani woman high with her good deeds. Her achievements at the international level are also the success of an Azerbaijani woman.
Azerbaijani trade unions also pay special attention to the active participation of women in public life, their greater representation in the structures of trade unions, and the strengthening of their role. Currently, the number of trade union members is dominated by women.
Azerbaijani mother has always brought up worthy and brave children for the Motherland. It was our heroic sons, whom they brought up in the spirit of patriotism, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who liberated our land from occupation and won an unparalleled Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War.
