“Looking at the Khojaly genocide is enough to understand the essence of the criminal Armenian policy. This is their true face. With such dirty deeds, they have opened black pages in the memory of history. Enmity, territorial claims, aggression, terrorism, genocide are signs of their treacherous nature. It is known from history that Armenians are not the inhabitants of these territories, they were moved to the ancient lands of Azerbaijan later and for dirty purposes. This is not a distant history, it covers the next 200 years. From the first day, they lived with the dream of creating a “Great Armenia” state, which they invented at the expense of Azerbaijani lands. That false claim and aggressive policy led to the death of thousands of civilians and their expulsion from the area where they lived. “They have always used the gaps in history as an opportunity and resorted to bloody crimes.”
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.
According to him, the Khojaly genocide is the bloodiest crime directed against humanity in general: “Peaceful residents were killed that night, babies, women, old people were killed. Almost the entire city was mercilessly destroyed. This incident is extremely serious and terrible like Khatyn, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Songmi. The deviant Armenians resorted to completely insulting actions on people in Khojaly, scalped people, cut off their heads and other organs, put out the eyes of children, and ripped open the bellies of pregnant women. Of course, these actions do not belong to human nature, but nationalist-chauvinist Armenians did it. Even those who committed this act considered themselves heroes and received awards from their state.”
The chairman of ATUC noted that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev gave the first political price to the Khojaly tragedy: “Thus, February 26 was declared the “Khojaly Genocide and National Mourning Day” by the decree signed by him in 1994. Also, with the Decree signed by the Great Leader in 1997, a minute of silence was announced every year on February 26 at 17:00 in the territory of the country as a sign of respect to the victims of the Khojaly genocide. Under the leadership of our head of state Mr. Ilham Aliyev, for many years, active work has been carried out to promote the Khojaly genocide on a world scale.
It is as a result of this that the legislative bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Honduras, Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Sudan, Djibouti, Guatemala, Paraguay, Slovenia, Scotland, Indonesia and Afghanistan, regarding the Khojaly genocide, and the respective parliaments adopted the resolutions. Genocide has also been recognized by the legislative bodies and gubernatorial proclamations of more than 30 US states. Here, I would like to mention the “Justice to Khojaly” campaign, which was implemented at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The campaign operates in many countries, exhibitions, meetings, conferences, seminars are held.”
“The invincible Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev destroyed the invading Armenian army, saved Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh from occupation by showing great heroism. Our tricolor, moon and star flag is flying majestically across the country today. The souls of all our martyrs, including the victims of the Khojaly genocide, are happy, their blood was not left on the ground, their revenge was deservedly taken on the battlefield,” said the deputy of the Milli Majlis.
