“Azerbaijan, as one of the important actors of the system of international relations, is one of the main participants in global discussions. The countries of the world are already deeply aware of our country’s ability to influence international and regional processes and highly appreciate its contributions in this direction. During the pandemic, Azerbaijan’s initiatives, the steps it took, as well as the optimal results of the projects it implemented against the background of the energy crisis, greatly increased its international position. We can also add to this the continuous stability established in our country, gaining the status of a loyal partner. Of course, the points I mentioned are extremely important factors for world states and international organizations. When we consider, we see that Azerbaijan is invited to any globally important events, regardless of the topic. the opinions and suggestions of the head of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, are listened to and highly appreciated. The position of our country is always based on peace and security, based on the principles of justice.
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the parliament, expressed these views to the mass media.
According to him, the 59th meeting of the traditional Munich Security Conference, the subject of discussion of which is international security, was significant for our country. The future topics were also relevant for the world, including our country. Thus, the role of our country in energy security, “green energy” and security issues in the South Caucasus is very high. Participating in the Munich Security Conference, President Ilham Aliyev held a number of important meetings, participated in a round table, and a plenary session. First of all, let me say that the head of state drew attention to our country’s economic strength, energy potential, importance for foreign investors, logistics and transport possibilities in his meetings. At the round table held as well, he voiced valuable opinions about energy security, once again expressed the role of our country in this field, and announced future goals.
Azerbaijan intends to increase gas transportation to 20 billion cubic meters by TAP and 31 billion cubic meters by TANAP till 2027. We see that Azerbaijan is working hard to increase gas exports to Europe, and is making important contributions to the elimination of the current crisis in this direction in the region.”
Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, “Overcoming the mountains? At the plenary meeting on “establishing security in the South Caucasus”, President Ilham Aliyev, relying on the state interests, commented on the issues with his clear speech,, and coherent arguments, and revealed the peaceful position of Azerbaijan. Of course, Azerbaijan has been working for peace, stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus for many years, and all its efforts are based on this. The results of the Patriotic War created new opportunities for cooperation in the region. The head of our state gave a clear answer to those who still use the term “Nagorno-Karabakh”. It is true that those looking for the name “Nagorno-Karabakh” should turn to history, and today there is no such territory in Azerbaijan. The President also commented on the baseless claims that the Armenians living in Karabakh are under blockade and brought the real truth to the attention of the participants. It is known that our natural resources are being exploited illegally in the territories of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, and the ecological situation has worsened in those territories. For this reason, Azerbaijani civil society representatives and ecologists are holding a humanitarian protest on the Shusha-Lachin road. Humanitarian cargoes of Russian peacekeepers, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as Armenians living in Karabakh, including children and patients, can freely pass through the territory. It goes without saying that the opinions voiced by the other party in this regard are only fiction,” said the member of the parliament.
S.Mohbaliyev added that at the Munich Security Conference, the international community saw that Azerbaijan is an important country for the world, its fair approaches, efforts for peace and security, and this is the next diplomatic achievement of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
