“The tension in the system of international relations, including the crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, once again showed Azerbaijan’s power and value to the world. The energy policy of our country, which was founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued and developed by the head of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is successfully fulfilling its great rescue mission today, as stated by world leaders and experts. It is the result of this policy that Azerbaijan has already become the energy center of the region and the value of the projects implemented by it is highly appreciated. Our country, which plays an important role in overcoming the energy crisis faced by Europe, also speaks of itself as a reliable partner. Of course, in this aspect, the balanced policy of our head of state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the strong stability that exists in Azerbaijan are extremely important factors that raise the reputation of our country and strengthen its international positions.
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.
According to him, Azerbaijan’s relations with European countries, which cover many fields, are being strengthened and expanded in recent years with intensified mutual visits, meetings, and signed documents: “From this point of view, the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Hungary is important for both countries, for the further development of relations and will have an important impact on the deepening of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. As we know, our relations with Hungary, which are developing in the context of friendship, cooperation and strategic partnership, are broader in the political and economic spheres. It is known that Hungary is among the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan. Last year, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was celebrated. Also, the economic potential of both countries, the signed documents open wide opportunities for cooperation in this field. Hungary has invested 1.1 billion US dollars in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan has invested 18.1 million US dollars in this country. Hungary prefers cooperation with our country in the field of energy, states that it wants to join the Southern Gas Corridor. I would like to emphasize that Azerbaijan-Hungary relations within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States are at a high level. “Hungary, which is connected to its historical roots, has been represented in the Organization as an observer since 2018 and attaches great importance to relations with member countries.”
The member of the Milli Majlis noted that during the last visit of our head of state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the opinions expressed during his one-on-one and extensive meetings with the President of Hungary, Mrs. Katalin Novak and the Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the initiatives put forward, as well as the documents signed between the two countries once again show that mutually beneficial prospects for further expansion of cooperation are great and new opportunities are opening up ahead.
