On January 30, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held with veterans who worked in the field of trade unions for many years.
First, the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Speaking at the event, ATUC Chairman, Member of Parliament Sattar Mohbaliyev congratulated the participants, including veteran trade workers, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the ATUC and wished them success.
After that, S. Mohbaliyev spoke about the history of the development of the Azerbaijani trade unions, their activities, their services in the formation of the civil society, as well as the state support given to the trade unions by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev.
He said that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to the activities of trade unions during his leadership of our country, gave valuable recommendations and addressed letters to their congresses. Also, the head of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is always interested in the activities of ATUC, appreciates its social activities, rewards trade union leaders and activists.
The chairman of ATUC highly appreciated the activities of the employees who worked in the system of trade unions for many years and thanked them for their effective services in the development of the institution.
He emphasized that your rich experience and professional activity played an important role in the achievements made in the direction of solving the social problems of workers in our country, providing decent working conditions for them, regulating labor relations, and protecting the legal interests of workers.
He noted that in our powerful state where we live, all the rights of our citizens, including labor rights, are ensured at the highest level, and for that we are grateful to the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice-President, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
