The people of Azerbaijan celebrate with great enthusiasm the second year of the victory chronicle of the most powerful state in history, the decisive victory for justice. Because this is the biggest victory we have won in the last 200 years of our history.
The magnificent victory of Azerbaijan, which rose to the war of justice two years ago, in just 44 days, ended 30 years of longing and opened a new page in our glorious history. The chief architect of this great victory, Victory, is Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Our Commander-in-Chief, who wrote the newest history of Azerbaijan, along with all his achievements, also became the savior of our occupied lands, wrote the success history of Azerbaijan in a very short time. In all his speeches, “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” – President Ilham Aliyev said and made it a reality.
The basics of reality leading to the Great Victory
It is a proud reality that the former Nagorno-Karabakh conflict became history in just 44 days. However, obtaining the appropriate conditions and sufficient power for those 44 days did not happen in a short time. This was realized thanks to years of hard work, independent policy, offensive diplomacy and decisive decisions.
Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the worthy successor of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who successfully continued the concept of development, in 2003 the people of Azerbaijan trusted and gave him a mandate of trust and elected him as President, until 2020, that is, in 17 years, he conducted such a policy and diplomacy that the world first of all, he saw the truths of Azerbaijan and began to accept them. Increasingly, the number of countries recognizing Armenia as an occupying state increased.
The real realities were reflected in the decisions and resolutions adopted by international organizations. The Armenian diaspora, which organized and supported the implementation of various campaigns against Azerbaijan in most countries of the world, gradually became powerless in the face of the truth. The number of reliable partners of Azerbaijan has steadily increased. In a short time, our country has become a provider of energy security in Europe. Azerbaijan has both authored and initiated the implementation of global projects. Successes in the international political arena brought political dividends to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has changed the energy map of Europe with the global projects it has implemented, and soon our country began to lead international organizations.
In addition to all this, the progressive socio-economic reforms carried out in the country created a real basis for rapid development in Azerbaijan. It was for this reason that Azerbaijan always emerged from the global economic crises with the least losses. In a short time, Azerbaijan became a country that ensured both economic and political independence. All these successes were achieved as a country where 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s land is under occupation, constantly facing the principles of double standards, and struggling with defamation and slander campaigns. Of course, as the economic power increased, the state whose lands were under occupation had to implement the process of building an army and strengthening the arsenal of its armed forces. Because, as a visionary leader, Ilham Aliyev knew that military force can solve the issue that cannot be solved by the power of law.
The second Karabakh war, the first spark
The Tovuz battles that took place in July 2020 were the spark that led to the start of the Second Karabakh War. On July 12, the provocations committed by the armed forces of Armenia in the direction of Tovuz region of the state border of Azerbaijan were resolutely prevented.
In the battles of Tovuz, the soldiers and high-ranking officers of our army showed examples of heroism and bravery and resolutely prevented the provocations caused by the Armenian invaders. In these battles, Major General Polad Hashimov, Colonel Ilgar Mirzayev and several other officers, ensigns and our soldiers fought heroically and rose to the height of martyrdom.
Not only Armenia, the whole world witnessed that the generals and officers of the Azerbaijani Army fight shoulder to shoulder with their soldiers, inspire them and set an example.
There was a large crowd of people at the funeral of our martyrs. In those days, the people of Azerbaijan were still standing. Everyone declared that they were closely united around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to fight and liberate our occupied lands. Hatred against the enemy was high, everyone called for “war” to avenge the unjust bloodshed. This battle united the people-president-army unity in Azerbaijan around one fist.
As always, no international organization, even the former Minsk group of the OSCE created for the peaceful settlement of the conflict, and other major powers did not put pressure on Armenia, did not apply any sanctions against the aggressor or provocateur. Armenia, which always took advantage of this atmosphere of impunity, did not stop its provocations. It was clear to everyone in Azerbaijan that the official Iravan does not give up such dirty deeds. Because this was an old “tactic” used by the terrorist leadership of Armenia to suppress internal disturbances in the country and to focus attention on the front.
After the election of Nikol Pashinyan as the country’s prime minister, the situation changed a little at first. In his various statements, the Prime Minister emphasized the possibility of a peaceful solution to the conflict and even criticized the previous government for not solving the problem until now. However, time passed and Pashinyan’s true Armenian character emerged.
Pashinyan’s stupid statements, empty claims, and illegal settlement in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan could not fail to wear down the patience of our people, who are in favor of a peaceful solution to the conflict. This showed that the invading country was preparing for a war by bringing military equipment to different directions of the front in order to provoke Azerbaijan. They didn’t even hide the fact that a volunteer army was created to prepare for a new war. In all his speeches and interviews, the President of Azerbaijan declared to the world that Armenia is preparing for war, and this should be prevented in time. Still, international organizations, sticking to their traditions, did not give any warning to the invader, and the result of this was manifested on September 27, 2020. He resorted to provocations along all directions of the front and made the most wrong move in the history of Armenia. That mistake dealt a crushing, fatal blow to the invading country, which will not heal for many years.
The Azerbaijani Army has started the “Iron Fist” operation of the Victorious Command. In the country, the unity of the president-people-army led Azerbaijan to a glorious victory. The Victory march, which started on September 27, stopped in Shusha, the heart of Karabakh, on November 8.
Armenia, which threatened Azerbaijan and relied on the fortifications they built over the years, fell to its knees in just 44 days. In front of the determination of the brave sons of Azerbaijan, the Armenian soldier was forced to throw down his weapon and flag and run away.
