The 5th World Congress of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) is being held in Melbourne, Australia.
The congress is attended by representatives of the trade unions of the member countries of ITUC.
Our country is represented at the event by the Azerbaijani delegation led by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the Milli Mejlis, Sattar Mohbaliyev.
President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions Mrs. Michelle Oneil spoke at the opening ceremony of the event and wished success to the work of the congress.
Sharan Burrow, Secretary General of ITUC, gave a report on the activities of the institution she led in the last 4 years, implemented projects, and applied innovations. It should be noted that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres joined the opening ceremony online.
On the second day of the congress, the composition of the election calculation commission was determined.
Then, reports of national trade unions were heard at the Plenary session.
