On November 22-24, a subregional seminar entitled “Activity of trade unions for sustainable development” is being held in Baku, jointly organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Turin International Training Center.
At the event, Ilyas Aliyev , the first deputy chairman of the ILO, Sergeyus Glovaskas , the sector manager of the Eastern European and Central Asian countries of the ILO, Evelyn Toth , the activity manager of the Turin International Education Center for Europe and Arab countries , and the Moscow office of the Eastern European and Central Asian countries of the ILO attended the event. Chief specialist Gocha Alexandria, as well as representatives of trade unions of Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are participating.
The essence of Sustainable Development Goals, set goals and objectives, economic, social and ecological aspects of sustainable development, development directions, the latest situation related to the SDGs in the world, the interaction of the trade union movement with the UN on the SDGs, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s experience, achievements in the implementation of the 8 SDGs on decent work and economic growth, cross-country exchange of experience, ways to improve social protection systems using the SDGs, the role of trade unions in promoting a just transition to ecologically sustainable economies and societies, and other necessary issues is discussed.
