On September 7-9, 2022, an orienteering sport championship was held between the organizations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the forest belt of Gabala region under the joint organization of the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Trade Union of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
About 80 athletes from 17 teams representing various institutions of the Ministry participated in the championship dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the National Olympic Committee. In the two-day competition, employees of the Ministry’s institutions demonstrated their skills in team and individual first place.
In the championship, the team of the State Service for Control of Small Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took the first place, the team of the Civil Defense troops took the second place, and the team of the State Fire Protection Service took the third place. In addition, in individual competitions among girls, the employees of the Special Risk Rescue Service, Sima Safarova, took the first place, Kamala Kahramanova, the second, and the employee of the Civil Defense Forces, Farida Huseynzade, took the third place. In the men’s race, Rufulla Fatullayev, a cadet of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, was awarded the first place, Farid Ahmadov, an employee of the North-West Regional Center, was awarded the second place, and Erkin Madatov, an employee of the North Regional Center, was awarded the third place.
In the final stage of the competition, Colonel Fuzuli Musayev, head of the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Mehman Ismayilov, chairman of the Trade Union of MES employees, spoke about the work done in the direction of the development of sports in our country, the importance of the competition, and at the same time, the sports achievements of MES employees, and congratulated the winners.
At the end, the winners of the championship were presented with cups, medals, diplomas and valuable gifts.
