Sustainable Development Goals were discussed

On August 15, “Strengthening the potential of the ILO for effective participation in the programs and processes of the ILO on sustainable development” and “Sustainable Development Goals until 2030” published by ILO with the support of the ILO in Baku under the organization of the Customs Workers HIB. “Report for the period of review and evaluation of the measures taken in the Republic of Azerbaijan to implement (SDG)” books was presented.

Safar Ibrahimov, the chairman of the Customs Workers Union, Elkhan Shahverdiyev, a specialist of the Organizational Affairs and Information Department of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, the chairmen of the first organization of the Union and activists of the Union participated in the presentation ceremony.

First, the dear memory of our officers and soldiers who died for the territorial integrity of our Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence.

  1. Shahverdiyev conveyed the greetings of ATUC chairman, Milli Mejlis deputy Sattar Mohbaliyev to the participants of the event and spoke about the role of Azerbaijani trade unions in the life of the country, the work done, and the implemented projects.

Then, the 17 goals of Sustainable Development, national measures and progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals were reported in connection with the presentation of the book. Ensuring sustainable social development is one of the important priorities set by the government of Azerbaijan and successfully implemented. In this direction, complementary strategic projects and socio-economic programs are implemented in Azerbaijan. It is as a result of this that the continuous socio-economic development of our country is ensured.

At the end, the questions of the participants were answered and a broad exchange of ideas was held.
