An event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the martyred lieutenant colonel Raguf Orujov was held under the joint organization of “Zafar” Public Union of Support to Martyrs’ Families and “Asan Volunteers” Organization, with the information support of Asan Radio.
The event organized in the liberated territory of Agdam region was attended by MPs, public representatives of Agdam region, martyr families, veterans, Asan volunteers, personnel of the military unit “N”, officials of the Ministry of Defense and mass media.
The event began with the military orchestra playing the National Anthem of Azerbaijan around the Shahbulag fortress and commemorating the memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence.
In his speech, Deputy Jeyhun Mammadov talked about the April battles, which were the beginning of victory, and the bravery of the heroic sons of Azerbaijan, who gave us a great victory in the Patriotic War.
The meaningful life path of the martyred commander was also reviewed at the event, and his comrades-in-arms shared interesting war memories about him. Speaking, the official of the Ministry of Defense noted that the war path of R. Orujov is a school for every soldier and officer and said that our esteemed nation will never forget such heroes and will always remember their dear memories. It was emphasized that holding the jubilee event in R. Orujov’s motherland – Aghdam, freed from occupation, is a manifestation of deep respect for the spirit of the commander.

R.Orujov’s wife, Chairman of “Zafar” Public Union for support to martyr families Sevinj orujova said that her husband’s greatest wish was to liberate his homeland from occupation: “we are happy that our occupied lands are free thanks to Mr. Ilham Aliyev’s great military skill, the unshakable unity of our wise people and the courage of our Invincible Army. This makes each of us proud. The soul of our martyrs is also happy today, The Motherland, which they have been striving for, has been liberated.”
At the event, the “Asan Volunteers” Organization implemented the “Letter to the Soldier” project among the personnel of the “N” military unit, and at the same time, a meeting of former officers and young Asan volunteers was organized together with Raguf Orujov.
Also, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a holiday gift sent by the employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport was delivered to the soldiers.
