XIV Forum International Trade Unions of Eurasian Educational Workers was held in Baku

On June 28, the XIV Forum of International Trade Unions of the Eurasian Education Workers Union was held in Baku. Delegations from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Romania and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in the Forum, which was organized by the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers (ATİAHI RK).

The participants of the forum first came to the Alley of Honor and laid flowers in front of the grave of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of our people, the architect and founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan. Later, the memory of Zarifa Aliyeva, a lifelong companion of the Great Leader, outstanding ophthalmologist-scientist, academician, was commemorated with respect.

Bunches of flowers were also arranged on the graves of prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev and well-known doctor-scientist Tamerlan Aliyev.

The participants of the Forum who came to the Alley of Martyrs paid their respects to the memory of the sons of the Motherland who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country, and laid flowers on their graves.

Then the Forum started its work. First, the dear memory of the heroic children of the Motherland, who died for the territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) and ATIAHI RK, MP of Milli Mejlis, Sattar Mohbaliyev, spoke about the measures implemented in the field of education in Azerbaijan. He noted that the development of education in Azerbaijan is a priority direction of the state policy: “Each year, important steps are taken in the direction of the development of educational infrastructure in Azerbaijan, new school buildings are built and repaired, the material and technical support of educational institutions is further strengthened, ensuring the development of education implementation of state programs continues, new strategic projects are adopted. Also, the improvement of the social security of people working in the field of education is constantly focused on by the state. Every year, the amount of funds allocated to education in the state budget increases significantly, and the salaries of education workers are increased.

Speaking about the activities of ATIAHI RK, S. Mohbaliyev noted that the organization protects the labor rights of educational workers, organizes their social protection, free time, establishes labor relations between workers and students working in the education sector and the heads of enterprises in a normal way, labor, social, economic closely cooperates with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan in order to achieve the goals it has set in relation to the elimination of conflicts that may arise in relation to its rights and the protection of its legal interests. Also, the organization takes advantage of the experience of the leading countries of the world to better serve the members of the trade union.

Mohbaliyev said that one of the international organizations represented by ATIAHI RK is UAESEB: “This union was formed in 2006 by the joint decision of Turkish Egitim-Sen, Kazakhstan Science and Education Workers Trade Union, Kyrgyzstan Science and Education Workers Trade Union and Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers. Later, Turkic-speaking organizations operating in Iraq, North Macedonia, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Romania and Kosovo joined this union. We hope that the ranks of this organization will expand further and soon the trade union organizations of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as other brother countries, will join this organization. The creation of this union serves to establish relations between trade union organizations operating in the field of education in Turkic-speaking countries, as well as organizations and associations operating in the countries where Turkic-speaking peoples live. It can be said with certainty that the organization is operating successfully and has been able to achieve its goals during the past period.
  2. Mohbaliyev said that today there are very close relations between Turkic-speaking countries. These countries support each other closely. As Azerbaijan, we saw this support again in the Second Karabakh war.

Then, Deputy Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov spoke at the event and spoke about the importance of the Forum, the development of relations between Turkic-speaking countries in the field of education and the achievements made in Azerbaijan’s education in recent years.

Talip Geylan, chairman of International Trade Unions of  Eurasian Educational Workers and Turk Egitim-Sen, spoke about the goals, functions, and implemented projects of UAESEB. He said that the relations between Turkic-speaking countries are developing in a rising line, covering all fields. He said that the institution he leads is playing an important role in deepening the existing relations between Turkic-speaking countries and expanding cooperation in the field of education.

He called the clearing of Azerbaijan’s lands from the enemy in the Patriotic War a brilliant victory of the entire Turkic world. He noted that the Turkish states do not have an eye on the lands of any country: “We saw this in the 44-day Patriotic War as well. Despite the pressure from the countries of the world, the Azerbaijani Army showed heroism and achieved a historic Victory. I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on this occasion. The Karabakh problem is over and Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Armenia should continue its normal neighborhood policy from now on. Otherwise, he will create problems for himself.”

Other speakers – Aygül Mukasheva, Chairman of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers of Kazakhstan, Asilbek Toktogulov, Chairman of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers of Kyrgyzstan, Elvin Hasan, Advisor to the Minister of Information and Management of North Macedonia, Chairman of the Horizon Association, Akın Manga, Chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Official-Sen, Romania Chairman of the Education Commission of the Turkish Democratic Union Vildan Bormambet and Chairman of the Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture Workers of Uzbekistan Ravshan Bedilov talked about the activities of trade unions in their country, their role in the development of society, and their services in the public life of the country. They also talked about UAESEB’s contribution to the development of relations between our countries. All speakers congratulated their Azerbaijani colleagues on the occasion of the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and called it the glorious history of the Turkic world.

At the end of the event, the final statement of the XIV Forum of UAESEB was voted and adopted.
