The next meeting between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the European Council (EU) Charles Michel and Prime Minister of Armenia Nicole Pashinyan took place on May 22 in Brussels, Belgium. The issues discussed at the meeting and the agreements reached once again confirm that the whole process is based on the realities authored by Azerbaijan and fully reflects the interests of our state as a victorious country. As in previous trilateral meetings, in the last contact, the proposals put forward by Azerbaijan for peace and cooperation remain unchanged, because it contains the principles of international law.
The statement came from chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev.
According to him, the Armenian side must understand that Azerbaijan is a victorious country, the conflict is over, there are consequences and it is necessary to reconcile with these consequences: “Some of the views voiced by the separatists in Armenia are no longer a topic of discussion, and raising these issues against the background of new realities can only be ridiculous. The meetings in Brussels reaffirm that there is no such thing as “Nagorno-Karabakh” or status. After the conflict, it is clear where these issues are. Today, we see the protests of separatists in Armenia, who are trying to obstruct the peace talks, which are making everyone laugh. They, I say openly, are arbitrarily destroying their country. They do not understand that they are trying to achieve something that is impossible and impossible, they can not give up their past dreams. They do not understand that they have in front of them a leading state in the region, Azerbaijan, with which all countries are very pleased to cooperate and are always praised as a reliable partner. They also do not understand that the salvation of Armenia lies only in the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan. Because the main goal of Azerbaijan is to achieve peace and security, stability and tranquility in the region.
“I consider the discussion of humanitarian issues at the last meeting in Brussels, including mine clearance and the fate of missing people, to be one of the important points, of course. It is known that landscaping works are being carried out in the liberated East Zangazur and Karabakh. A number of projects have already been completed, inaugurated, and other work will be completed in the near future. Our state creates all conditions for the return of residents to their ancestral homes. Of course, the landmine issue is hampering this process, and dozens of civilians have been killed so far. It is very important to touch upon the issue of mines in this regard. The meeting also discussed the holding of a joint meeting of commissions on border issues, taking concrete steps for the delimitation and demarcation of the state border, the opening of transport and communications, and there are certain agreements.
All these issues, as I mentioned above, fully meet the interests of our country, are another diplomatic achievement of our President Ilham Aliyev, “said the MP.
The ATUC chairman also touched upon relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan. He said that in general, Azerbaijan’s international prestige is constantly growing, its global initiatives are supported by world powers and is recognized as a reliable partner: “Our country’s relations with the European Union are at a high level and continue to expand. Our cooperation is developing, especially in the field of energy. “Azerbaijan has an important role in Europe’s energy security.”
