The Baku Metro provides all possible support to our heroic sons and daughters, who took up arms to defend our territories and liberate our occupied lands from the enemy, and pays attention and care to the families of martyrs, veterans and war veterans.

The Baku Metro and the Metro Workers’ Trade Union have established a Center for Assistance to Martyrs’ Families and War Veterans in the Metro in order to regularly monitor the social welfare of martyrs’ families and war veterans, and to consider their appeals more expeditiously and transparently.

An event was held with the participation of members of the families of martyrs working in the metro, as well as war veterans (337 people) to discuss and approve the draft Statute of the Center, as well as to elect the Board.

Speaking at the event, The  Metro Workers’ Trade Union  Chairman Arif Mardanov spoke about the goals and objectives of the Center. He said that the Center is an important project for more sensitive attention to war veterans and members of the families of martyrs.

Deputy Chairman of  The Baku Metro  Hidayat Mammadov expressed confidence that the Center will be important in focusing on more operational and important issues, taking into account the available opportunities.

After discussions on the regulations, 5 members of the Board were elected.

It should be noted that, according to the Regulations, the Board includes 5 people elected at the meeting in a completely transparent manner, as well as Deputy Chairman of  The Baku Metro  Hidayat Mammadov and Chairman of the Board Arif Mardanov. They should meet at least once every two months to review and decide on the applications received. Members of the families of martyrs and veterans working in the institution should meet once a year in full and listen to and evaluate the report of the Board.

Afterwards, members of the martyrs’ families and veterans voiced their suggestions and recommendations. The sides also exchanged views on other issues of interest to the participants.

It should be noted that 24 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and a member of the martyr’s family, who ended in a brilliant victory, were provided with jobs in the metro.
