A meeting of the Presidium of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan (FTUEA RC) was held on April 1.
At the event attended by members of the Presidium, Chairman of (FTUEA RC), MP Sattar Mohbaliyev acquainted the members with the agenda of the meeting.
The agenda includes “On the general annual statistical report of the Republican Committee of FTUEA for 2021”, “On the state of reception of citizens, consideration of applications and complaints in the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan in 2021 and member organizations”, “Results for 2021” “On the implementation of the budget of the Republican Committee of FTUEA”, “On the work done to organize the treatment and recreation of trade union members in 2021.” Emil Rustamov, Head of the Organizational Department of the Republican Committee, made a report on the first issue of the agenda and provided information on the statistical indicators for 2021. He noted that as of January 1, 2022, there are 5,739 primary trade union organizations and 401,197 union members united in 136 district, city and regional legal committees of FTUEA. Compared to last year’s figures, in 2021 the number of union members increased. Thus, in 2019, the number of union members was 389,422. The report added that in 2021, a collective agreement was signed between the trade union committee and the administration of the first 5,725 organizations under the service of the Republican Committee. Collective agreements, which serve to protect the labor, social, economic rights and legitimate interests of union members, cover 302,186 union members. Commenting on the issue, Mohbaliyev said that the chairmen of district, city and city trade union committees, as well as the chairmen of the first organizations should work to increase the prestige of trade union committees on the ground.
Compliance with the provisions of collective agreements should also be kept under special control: “Efforts should be made to ensure that influential people are represented in the first organizations. If the chairmen of the first organizations are influential people, then the reputation of trade unions in general will be high.
Speaking on the second issue of the agenda, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of FTUEA Mirza Jafarzadeh said that in 2021, the Republican Committee and member organizations serving the Republican Committee received a total of 62,171 applications and complaints, of which 60,278 were resolved positively. Thus, 323 out of 424 appeals related to the protection of labor rights and 180 out of 209 appeals related to the work of trade union bodies were resolved positively. Also, in 2021, the Republican Committee of FTUEA and the city, district and regional trade union committees included in its service provided financial assistance to 52,593 union members. It was also noted that 87 out of 424 appeals related to the protection of labor rights were related to reinstatement. Last year, as a result of the intervention of the Republican Committee of FTUEA , two people were reinstated. At the same time, as a result of the intervention of the city, district and regional trade union committees included in the service of the Republican Committee, 40 people were reinstated. Commenting on the issue, the chairman noted that trade unions should pay attention to each application and try to eliminate issues of concern to trade union members: “Each application requires a special approach. In this regard, every application should be investigated, and attention should be paid to people with problems. ” Mubariz Eyvazov, Secretary of the Republican Committee of FTUEA, Head of the Finance Department, spoke about the implementation of the budget indicators for 2021, as well as the measures taken last year to ensure the treatment and recreation of trade union members. At the end of the meeting, Mohbaliyev made a closing speech and made recommendations. He noted that the chairmen of the district committees should provide assistance to those who apply: “As you know, in general, as trade unions, we have provided various assistance to vulnerable groups, both during the Pandemic and the Patriotic War and beyond. They are provided with the necessary assistance on all significant days. We are also always interested in the problems of the families of martyrs and their children, and we try to support them in every possible way. The families of the martyrs are visited, gifts are presented and such events are held regularly. So far, we have taken care of 286 children of 172 martyrs. Money is transferred to their account every month. It is true that they are fully protected by our state, but we – public organizations – must support them in every way. Along with trade union members, it also provides martyrs’ families and veterans with vouchers. We give vouchers to recreation centers and sanatoriums for their rest and treatment. This work must be continued. ”
