A document on cooperation in the field of education was signed between trade unions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan

On April 18, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev received a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers of Kazakhstan Aygul Mukasheva.

The meeting focused on the relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as the existing relations between the trade unions of the two countries, the work done to further strengthen cooperation and future prospects.

The ATUC chairman said that Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations were successfully developing in social, political, economic, cultural and other spheres.

Speaking about the activities of trade unions in Azerbaijan, the ATUC chairman said that trade unions, the largest public organization in the country, actively participate in building a new society, play an important role in implementing social policy and respond adequately to all state challenges, including social proposals.

Mohbaliyev added that today the trade unions, as defenders of the rights of our citizens involved in the labor process in Azerbaijan, are more consistent and purposeful, using new methods and tools to adapt working conditions to modern standards, solve social problems and ensure labor rights.

Mohbaliyev also spoke about Azerbaijan’s successful education policy: “Increasing economic opportunities of our country also have an impact on education. Development of education in Azerbaijan Improving the social welfare of people working in this field is one of the priorities of state policy.Almost every year, the salaries of people working in the field of education are increasing. From January 1 this year, the salaries of education workers in Azerbaijan have been increased by 20 percent, which is one of the steps taken to strengthen the social protection of educators.

Thanking for the warm reception, Aygul Mukasheva, chairwoman of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers of Kazakhstan, gave detailed information about the work done by the trade unions of Kazakhstan. He said relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are constantly developing, mutual visits are organized, experience and views are exchanged. It was noted that efforts will be made to further develop these relations.

Later, bilateral cooperation agreements were signed between the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan and the Trade Union of Scientists and Educators of Kazakhstan.  The agreement covers the protection of social, economic and labor rights of scientists and educators, development and strengthening of cooperation, provision and protection, increasing the role of trade unions in shaping state policy in the field of education, improving trade union methods and exchange of experience.
