“The speech of President Ilham Aliyev on all international platforms is of great interest. His ideas and initiatives are welcomed by the international community. The speech at the UN General Assembly’s high-level thematic discussions on “Increasing Efforts for Universal Vaccination” is similar. In general, our country has set an example in the fight against the pandemic, which is still relevant in the world today. The preventive measures taken by our state, we were able to avoid the severe consequences of the pandemic. In short, the pandemic was a test for the states of the world, we can proudly say that we won this test.”

This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), MP Sattar Mohbaliyev.

According to him, the vaccination strategy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev with great foresight in our country is already showing its results:

“Vaccines in Azerbaijan are both effective and safe.To date, more than 68% of the country’s adult population has been vaccinated with two doses. Thus, according to the latest statistics, in general about 13 million citizens have been vaccinated. This shows the responsible behavior of the country’s population.I wish to draw attention to another important point.

Thus, unlike other countries, the vaccination process in our country is free of charge.  This is a sign of attention to the importance of the health of our citizens.”

The social situation of our citizens in connection with the pandemic was also (or has also been ) the focus  of attention of our state.”A package of socio-economic support worth about $ 3 billion has been provided to people and businesses suffering from coronavirus in our country. This year, $ 1.6 billion has been allocated from the state budget for these purposes. The main thing is that President Ilham Aliyev has won the sympathy of the international community for his fair position in the global fight against the pandemic. At the initiative of Azerbaijan, as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, the UN Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly adopted resolutions on equal opportunities for all countries to use vaccines.Azerbaijan has provided financial and humanitarian assistance to about 80 countries directly and through the World Health Organization to support the fight against the coronavirus.”On the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, our country successfully continues its humanitarian mission today, continues to take effective and adequate measures to keep the pandemic under strict control,” -The MP said.
