Today, the process of transition to the “Green Energy” strategy is being successfully implementedin our country and has a large-scale. A number of major projects have already been completed in this direction, and alternative energy plays an important role in ensuring the energy security of our country.
This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, MP SattarMohbaliyev.
According to his report, a lot of works are being done in this direction in our liberated territories: “It is planned to use solar and wind energy. These projects will play a significant role in the energy supply of East Zangazur and Karabakh and will contribute to the environmental health of the region. On January 13, ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia laid the foundation of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 240 megawatts. This is an important project in the energy security of Azerbaijan as the largest renewable power plant in our country. The project will also play an important role in increasing employment, training qualified personnel in the field, and saving natural gas. In addition, the implementation of large projects in Azerbaijan by world-renowned companies, which require large sums, shows the economic stability and favorable investment climate in our country.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, President IlhamAliyev spoke about the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. Indeed, relations between the two countries are at a very high level. Saudi Arabia has always defended the right of our country at all levels, and did not even establish diplomatic relations with Armenia due to the policy of occupation. We have seen this moral support both during the occupation and the war. The interest of tourists from this country to our country is constantly growing. Before the pandemic, thousands of tourists traveled to our country every year to visit the sights. He noted that despite some restrictions due to the pandemic, Arab tourists are still coming to our country. All these mentioned facts play an important role in further strengthening relations between our countries.
