A memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan (FTUK).
The memorandum was signed by ATUC Chairman, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev from the Azerbaijani side and by Satybaldi Dauletalin, Chairman of the ATUF from the Kazakh side.
The memorandum envisages the protection of the interests and rights of workers, joint efforts to effectively protect the place and role of trade unions, strengthening friendly relations between workers and peoples of both countries, the development of effective cooperation between trade unions.
Development of forms and methods of social partnership and public control, fight against unemployment, labor protection and safety, environmental protection, social protection of workers, staff training, protection of workers’ health and recreation, assistance in development of general and medical tourism, bilateral consultations on recreation is one of the important areas of cooperation.
The parties will also show solidarity in protecting the inalienable rights of workers, raising living standards, against violations of the interests of trade union members, the trade unions of the two countries will coordinate their activities and positions, support each other in international organizations and events.
Both sides will contribute to strengthening international solidarity and unity among the trade unions of different countries for the sake of social progress, democratic rights, peace and security of peoples.
The memorandum also envisages holding joint sports and folklore events, exchange of tourist groups, and other activities that contribute to strengthening friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The parties will also exchange information on activities of mutual interest, exchange experiences and organize mutual visits.
The memorandum also includes joint research on the protection of the rights and interests of employees, the development of recommendations, programs, draft regulations and legislative acts.
It should be noted that the Memorandum is concluded for a period of 5 years, and if one of the parties does not notify the other party of its intention to terminate it at least 3 months in advance, it will be automatically extended for another five years.
This document will make an important contribution to the further deepening of existing relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the entry and development of a new stage of cooperation in some areas.
