Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation met with Chairman of the Georgian Trade Union Confederation

On November 29, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), MP Sattar Mohbaliyev met with Chairman of the Georgian Trade Union Confederation (GTUC) Irakli Petriashvili, who was visiting Azerbaijan.

There were discussed The current relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, relations between the trade unions of the two countries, the work done to further strengthen cooperation and future prospects at the meeting.

The ATUC chairman noted that the relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, based on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness, are built on solid foundations in all areas and are constantly developing.

ATUC chairman gave information about the activities of trade unions in Azerbaijan, said that trade unions organisation – is the largest public organization of our citizens, closely involved in building a new society in our country, plays an important role in implementing social policy and respond adequately to all state challenges.

Mohbaliyev added that today the trade unions, as defenders of the rights of Azerbaijani citizens involved in the labor process, are more consistent and purposeful in using new methods and tools to bring working conditions in line with modern standards, solve social problems and ensure labor rights operates.

Thanking for the warm reception, Chairman of Georgian Trade Unions Irakli Petriashvili said that relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Georgia are developing day by day, and it is important to have mutual visits and exchange of experience in this regard.

It was noted that efforts would be made to further develop these relations.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
