With the support of the International Labor Organization, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan held a webinar on “Analytical research of the ATUC on the development of a strategy to promote youth employment.” The event was attended by ATUC leaders and officials, as well as representatives of member organizations on youth affairs.
In his introductory speech, ATUC First Deputy Chairman Ilyas Aliyev spoke about the successes achieved in the field of youth policy in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, prospects, organization of effective use of youth potential, ATUC’s work in this direction. He noted that youth policy is an important part of the country’s development policy. According to him, the constantly improved youth policy has created conditions for increasing the role of the young generation in socio-political life, becoming a leading force in the country, providing employment and, in general, the formation of creative youth.
Namig Huseynov, Head of the Analytical Research Department of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, “Impact and Employment of Trade Unions on the Labor Market”, Tural Suleymanov, Chairman of the Youth Council, Gandab Habibbayli, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Department, made a presentation on “Questionnaire with focus groups of young people.”
The speeches focused on the reasons for developing a strategy to promote youth employment, the urgency of the issue, the place of Azerbaijani youth in world youth employment policy, new forms of employment, programs adopted in our country for youth employment, their activities in trade unions and protection of their rights.
