On November 4, an online meeting of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) was held.
The spirit of our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, who gave historical victory to the people of Azerbaijan, was commemorated with 1 minute of silence. Then the chairman of ATUC, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev spoke about the victory path of the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
He noted that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, formed thanks to the exceptional services of national leader Heydar Aliyev and embarked on the path of development, have today turned into victorious Army, which gave its people Victory under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev: “thanks to the successful policy and continuous measures taken, the Azerbaijani army is among the strongest armies. As a result of a successful counter-attack operation launched by our army in Karabakh on September 2020, 27, 9 November, 5 cities, 4 settlements and 286 villages were liberated from occupation. On November 10, Armenia was forced to sign an act of capitulation. According to the act of capitulation, Agdam on November 20, Kalbajar on November 25 and Lachin on December 1 were returned to Azerbaijan without a single bullet. Thus, Azerbaijan won the war both on the battlefield and on the political plane.”
The chairman of ATUC said that the speeches made by President Ilham Aliyev during the War differed with his emotionality: “every word, every thought sounded from the heart, reflecting the feelings of the people, was forever engraved on the memory of the people, and the languages were memorized. These words inspired people not to go out in the face of losses, but to stand proudly. The head of state showed unprecedented bravery in the military sphere, as well as in the diplomatic and information war front, supported the information blockade against Azerbaijan, and gave interviews to dozens of leading foreign media during and after the war. Each of these interviews is a diplomatic success of Azerbaijan and an attempt of pressure on our country through international organizations was successfully prevented.“
S.Mohbaliyev stressed that the moral and political support of Brotherly Turkey is one of the decisive factors that determined the outcome of the war: “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has supported the Just Cause of Azerbaijan from the first hours. His open, unambiguous and harsh statements made the Azerbaijani people very happy and honored every citizen of Azerbaijan.”
The chairman said that the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by the Armenian Armed Forces not only drove the Azerbaijanis out of their native lands, but also caused a heavy blow to the economy and cultural heritage of our country: “over one million Azerbaijanis have been forced to live as refugees and IDPs for 30 years. Armenia has put the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in a deplorable situation, completely destroyed the infrastructure in cities and villages, and inflicted billions of dollars’ worth of material damage to Azerbaijan. Today, the renovation and construction mission in the liberated territories is under way. In the near future, they will return to life and our residents will live happily forever in their ancestral homeland. I congratulate all the members of the trade union on Victory Day again and wish you a happy holiday. “.
The members of the Executive Committee spoke about the heroism of the Azerbaijani army in the Patriotic War, the unity of our people, the significant realities brought by Azerbaijan to the region.
During the decision on “The situation in the field of wages in Azerbaijan and the responsibilities of trade unions”, the ATUC chairman said that the regulation of labor relations, protection of labor rights, organization of their social protection, leisure, normalization of labor relations between managers and employees, elimination of conflicts gave some recommendations to member and subordinate organizations on active work to protect the legitimate interests of employees.
On the 65th anniversary of Azerbaijan television and 95th anniversary of radio it was decided to award the employees of “Azerbaijan television and Radio broadcasting” CJSC distinguished for effective labour activity in the trade union with ATUC’s honorary diplomas and provide them with lump sum financial assistance.
Other issues on the agenda were also discussed and relevant decisions were made.
