“Today we are happy to see our lands liberated from occupation. Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army began to delight us with its victories from the first day of its counter-offensive operations. Our people have been waiting for this for years. The hearts of all our people were beating with our invincible Army. The strength of the Azerbaijani Army was known to all. Research also showed that our army is the largest and strongest army in the South Caucasus. On the day of the counter-offensive, our army liberated Garakhanbeyli, Garvand, Horadiz, Yukhari Abdurrahmanli, Boyuk Marjanli, Nuzgar villages of Fuzuli region, Aghdara and Murovdagh villages of Jabrayil region. This shows the strength of our army. Our army has always been ready for battle and was able to clear such a large area of the enemy in one day. The enemy was always proud of its army, calling the lines of defense it built impassable. Our irresistible army destroyed those lines of defense in one attack. Armenia and its supporters have realized that there are no obstacles that the Azerbaijani Army cannot overcome.

The ATUC chairman said that Jabrayil was our first city liberated from occupation and the joy of it was a holiday for us: “Every year on August 23, in the history of Jabrayil’s occupation, we said that our city would be liberated one day and we believed that day would come. On October 4, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army, under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, amended this date. Already this year, our people celebrated October 4 as the day of the liberation of Jabrayil from the clutches of the enemy and became a history of honor of our people. This is the heroic history of the Azerbaijani Army, every officer and soldier who took part in the battles showed great courage, their heroism will never be erased from the memory of our people, our glorious history will be written in golden letters. By the order of President Ilham Aliyev, 22,744 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who demonstrated personal courage and bravery by participating in the combat operations for the liberation of the Jabrayil region, were awarded the Medal for the Liberation of Jabrayil.
