An event was held on the occasion of World Decent Work Day

The Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Cultural Workers  held an online seminar on “Struggle to restore and increase employment” initiated by the International Trade Union Confederation on the occasion of October 7 – World Decent Work Day.

Speaking about the history of the World Decent Work Day and its essence, Jamila Sattarova, the chairwoman of RCTUCW, said that October 7 is the World Action Day celebrated by trade unions in all countries: “Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Measures are being taken to improve living standards, prevent discrimination in the workplace, create conditions for employees, safety rules and other issues. “Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world that, thanks to preventive measures taken to combat the pandemic, is able to overcome the situation with minimal losses.” According to him, our main priorities in the post-pandemic period are economic development, ensuring economic and financial stability, further development of healthy and competitive human capital, creating sustainable jobs and developing new areas of economic activity.

Speaking at the seminar, Chingiz Ibrahimov, the labor technical inspector of The Republican Committee of the trade Union of Culteral Workers, said that despite the limited number of employees to protect the health of the population, all employees were provided with full wages by the state. He said that despite the pandemic, workers had not been fired by employers within the union. Providing employees with healthy and safe working conditions is always in the focus of trade unions.

Then the speakers – Sariya Guliyeva, trusted doctor on labor protection of  RCTUCW  Sona Gaziyeva, chairman of Zagatala District Committee, Adil Ahmadov, chairman of Bilasuvar District Committee, Telman Azimov, chairman of Sabirabad District Committee, Jahangir Talibov, chairman of Aghdam District Committee, Sahib Akhundov, chairman of the Ujar District Committee Mirgalam Aliyev spoke about the work done in this direction and the tasks ahead.
