On September 22, 2021, chairman of ATUC, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev , who took part in the event on “working relations of Eurasian Federation of Trade Unions of Food, Forestry and Tourism Workers (TOLEYIS) and Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation” held a meeting with trade union activists of the federation in Istanbul, Turkey.Before the meeting, the monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan, great leader Heydar Aliyev was visited in the Sariyer area of Istanbul, his unforgettable memory was commemorated with great respect, and flowers were laid at the monument.The visit was attended by Chairman of the Eurasian Federation of Trade Unions of Food, Forestry and Tourism Workers Cemail Bakindi, Deputy Chairman Murat Bakindi, Secretary General Ali Shahin and other officials of the federation.After the visit, ATUC Chairman, MP, Vice President of the International Trade Union Confederation and Pan-European Regional Council Sattar Mohbaliyev met with activists, including youth, of the Eurasian Federation of Trade Unions of Food, Forestry and Tourism Workers. The meeting focused on the sincere fraternal relations between the trade unions of the two brotherly countries, joint activities and cooperation, as well as issues related to youth employment and the solution of social problems. It was noted at the event that the regular meetings and exchanges of views between the leaders and activists of both trade unions in Baku and Istanbul have a positive impact on the overall work, i.e. the protection of socio-economic rights of workers.
ATUC Chairman, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev informed the participants about the historical path and activities of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation. ATUC Chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev also briefed the young audience on the activities of the International Trade Union Confederation, its structures and tasks as vice-president of the ATUC and the Pan-European Regional Council. He stressed the role of trade unions in overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and unemployment, as well as in reviving the economies of countries in the post-pandemic period, and stressed the importance of social dialogue. The chairman answered numerous questions of interest to activists and young people participating in the event. At the end, ATUC Chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev thanked the leadership of the federation, as well as its chairman Cemail Bakindi for the organization of the meeting and their hospitality.
