In an online discussion on “South Caucasus: Regional Development and Prospects for Cooperation” organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, President Ilham Aliyev briefed participants on the new conditions for development in the South Caucasus after the 44-day war and familiarized the world community with new realities in the region. did.

We can say without hesitation that the changes that have taken place in the region have taken place thanks to the determination and perseverance of Mr. President. By occupying Azerbaijani lands for many years, Armenia has paralyzed the region, slowed its development, separated it from civilization, and carried out barbarism and vandalism in accordance with its character. It is the huge political will of President Ilham Aliyev, the unification of the Azerbaijani people as a fist and the unshakable strength of our Army that have put the occupation policy of Armenia in the past and opened new doors for us. We, as well as all the countries of the region, have achieved this successful new situation as a result of the well-thought-out policy of our President, the implementation of which requires great determination and skill.

This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), MP Sattar Mohbaliyev.

According to Mohbaliyev, the new projects and initiatives announced by President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the Nizami Ganjavi International Center show that all this will serve peace, development, progress, active cooperation: “It is important that the world appreciates this. Major projects have already been launched in the liberated territories to promote active economic and political cooperation. It seems that Azerbaijan is actively working to turn these territories not as a closed space, but as a territory that will contribute to the development of the region in all areas.

“It is enough to look at the importance of the Zangazur corridor to see the future development prospects of the region and the region in general. According to economists, the project will unite Turkic-speaking countries with significant economic potential and natural resources with a nominal GDP of more than $ 1.1 trillion. It will also serve the formation of East-West and North-South transport corridors. This is a clear proof of how important Azerbaijan is for the region. By opposing this project, Armenia once again demonstrates its dangerous position for the region, although the opening of the corridor can create conditions for the development of this country. “Mr. President has repeatedly stated that the corridor will definitely be implemented, despite the disruptive protests of Armenia,” he said.

“If you remember, after being elected president in 2003, the head of state announced a possible concession in the negotiations with Armenia on the conflict. Mr. President said that our biggest concession could be to sit at the same table with Armenia and resolve this issue through negotiations to liberate the occupied territories. Otherwise, the option of war is inevitable. It took great political courage to keep Armenia out of the projects initiated by our President, despite the pressure of its supporters. Speaking in the interests of the state, the President unequivocally stated that he would not cooperate with the occupying power until the territories were liberated in the interests of the people. Today’s outcome of the conflict once again demonstrates the political will of the country’s leader and his commitment to his commitments. The occupation position of official Yerevan has put Armenia in a deplorable, crisis-ridden situation that needs no comment. In the last 6 months, it is facing a recession. Even the armies that speak of their constant invincibility do not exist today. It was destroyed by our armed forces under the leadership of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Today, they are looking for people who can blame the defeats of the conflict they started, and blame each other in this regard. The recent pre-election political processes in the country also increase tensions, and there is a great deal of mistrust in society, the ATUC chairman said.

He said that for many years Armenia has formed an enemy image of neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, and some political forces have poisoned the minds of society for their ugly political goals and convinced them of their lies in this direction. that part of the Armenian society began to believe that they were right. The real nature of the conflict was not properly explained to the people. In short, they began to believe their own lies. And the psychological tension in the country today is the result of unrealistic propaganda, which has already become a scourge for themselves.
